The ARCA team is doing the last preparations for the launch of the rocket Helen. These days they are running flight simulations, communication tests between the teams that will work on the launch equipment, flight procedures rehearsal, trainings and weather programs monitoring. Yesterday evening, the ARCA team shipped off to sea.

The launch was supposed to take place this morning, but due to bad weather, was postponed until tomorrow.

Operation launch will start around ten o’clock and will last approximately two hours.

The project will start with the lift off from the solar balloon, which will last about 60 minutes. After that, the balloon will fly up to an altitude of 14 500 m. From there, the automatic control will initiate the engines in 3 stages. The rocket flight will take several seconds.

The last procedure will be the recovery of the large balloon.

All this can be followed live on the Arca site. Mihai is also on the ship and he is live twittering from there.

We wish them good luck, and we are proud of them! :-)
