In case people reading this article don’t know anything about Basarabia, Moldavia and Romania, here is a brief history: Barasarabia, also called Moldavia, is an important land that belongs to Romania. When Russia (USSR) took control over the eastern Europe, they got Romania under the communist block and they separated Basarabia from Romania. Romania kept it’s own independence, despite the fact it was part of the communist block, but Basarabia was included into Russia (USSR). The Russians forced about 1/3 of population from Basarabia to go into gulags - communists labor camps from Siberia and they brought in Basarabia Russian populace to convert the region.
