Sono Music Arena was a campaign held between December 3th and January 5th 2009 for the Romanian online shop sono.ro. The main target was to increase the number of visitors to the site, to generate direct links and increase sales.

The campaign took place around the game Sono Music Arena.The users have created an account on the site. Each account automatically entered in the contest. Depending on the number of won games, the users received a total of points and at the end of the competition, the persons with the highest score got the prize.

The game was promoted through a blogvertising campaign and could be embedded on blogs. In the competition were enrolled 786 participants and 104,756 games were played. The winner has accumulated 285,510 points, equivalent to about 250 hours to play.

Traffic:

We must specify that the campaign took place during the winter holidays, thing that should have a negative effect on the traffic. But, between 3-20 Januarys the number of pages viewed rose by 31.7%, and during the whole period of exhibition game growth was 12.83%, with a sharp decline in traffic since the date of December 19.

General Statistics:

During the campaigning, the page contest had 211,238 views and 30,488 unique visitors. These data was obtained directly from the sono.ro website as Google Analytics does not count correctly the Flash pages.

Increased sales:

Without the influence of other factors (other campaigns, the supplement of certain marketing budgets) sales increased 57% comparative with the same period in November.

10 bloggers promoted the contest. They were selected according to the daily traffic and especially depending of the reputation and the topics covered in their articles. To these are added another 8 bloggers who also wrote about the competition.
